Australian owned. On the ground.
Built by operators who've watched good businesses get stuck on bad systems. When something goes wrong, an Australian answers the phone, and that person built the system.
The meaning of Praxa
Aristotle divided human activity into three kinds. Theoria, thinking, the pursuit of understanding for its own sake. Poiesis, making, the craft of bringing an object into existence. And praxis, doing: the work of getting things ordered correctly in the real world, among other people, under real constraints.
He rated the first highest. We'd respectfully disagree, and so, we suspect, would anyone who has ever run a factory. Understanding a problem is not the same as fixing it. Building something beautiful is not the same as making it work on a Tuesday when two people are away and a delivery is late.
Praxis is the least glamorous of the three and the one everything else depends on. It's the discipline of the practical: knowing what to do, and then actually doing it, in conditions that are never ideal.
We're not the thinking layer. We're not the making layer.
We're the doing layer. The software that gets the work done.
The same conversation, over and over.
An owner walks us through a business doing eight or ten million dollars a year, making something genuinely difficult, employing thirty people who are very good at their jobs. Then they open the software, and it is nowhere near as good as they are.
The stock numbers are approximately right. Reporting means an export. The bills of materials live in a spreadsheet that one person maintains. Everyone has a workaround and nobody thinks about it anymore, because that's just how the system is.
And every single time, they've already looked at fixing it. They were quoted fifty or a hundred thousand dollars and six to twelve months, and they made the entirely rational decision not to do it.
Praxa exists because that decision is now the wrong one, and almost nobody has been told. The numbers people are carrying about custom software are from a market that no longer exists. Our job is to close that gap, and then build the thing.
The commitments, plainly.
- Australian owned, Australian delivered
- Praxa Tech Pty Ltd is an Australian company serving Australian and New Zealand businesses. No offshore development team. No outsourced support desk. No reseller in the middle taking a margin for making an introduction.
- The people who build it are the people who answer
- There is no handover to an implementation partner and no support tier you escalate through. The person who picks up already knows what your sub-assemblies are called.
- We specialise, and we tell you where
- We have built platforms across a range of industries, and the problem underneath is remarkably consistent: systems that were never designed together, and someone whose real job is managing the joins.
- Australian and New Zealand manufacturing and wholesale distribution is where we have gone deepest. That depth is what lets us quote thirty to sixty days instead of six months, and it's why we're not learning your industry on your budget. Where a build sits outside it, we say so plainly rather than dress it up as our speciality.
- We tell you the date we can actually hold
- We only take on what we can build properly. If our capacity means the start is three weeks away, we'll say three weeks rather than promise a slot we can't hold. If something is going to move, you hear it from us first.
- You own what you paid for
- On final payment, the code and the system are yours outright. We keep no rights over it and we can't switch it off. An arrangement where leaving is easy is the only honest way to ask someone to stay.
- We don't claim what we can't evidence
- You won't find invented testimonials on this site, a logo wall we haven't earned, or a "trusted by 50+ businesses" badge. Client stories go up only once that client has signed off on the words, which is why there are fewer case studies here than we have builds. More are being written now.
- The free demo remains the proof that costs you nothing to check, and it's falsifiable in 48 hours.
